Why CHOOSE Durango Septic
We built this Service.
We take it personally.
Our Bobcat mini excavator is purpose-built for the kind of terrain and access conditions that come with properties across Southwest Colorado. Tight lots, sloped yards, narrow gates, remote sites means this machine gets in where larger excavators can't, and it does the work cleanly without turning your entire yard into a construction zone.
We use it across a range of septic-related jobs. Exposing tank and distribution box openings for riser installation. Digging profile pits to help engineers complete their septic system designs. Supporting new installations and repairs that require precise excavation. If you're a homeowner whose service requires access work that goes beyond hand digging, this is the equipment for the job. Durango Septic will bring it, we run it, and we clean up after ourselves.
“When your septic tank backs up, it is really bad news. I called Superior Septic and no one returned my call. Then I called Durango Septic and got them immediately. They arrived within the hour. Philip was able to tell me accurately what the problem was and what needed to be done. and he got to work digging. He showed me the blockage and fixed it. they were prompt, knowledgeable, efficient, and courteous. I could not be more pleased with a service I got from Durango Septic.”

FREQUENTLY ASKED
FAQ's
-
A profile pit is a test excavation dug to expose the soil layers on a property. Engineers use them to evaluate soil composition and drainage capacity when designing a new septic system. If you're working with an engineer on a new installation or replacement system, they may require a profile pit as part of their design process. We dig them.
-
That's the whole point of running a mini excavator rather than a full-size machine. It's built for tight gates, steep grades, narrow lots, and the kind of rugged terrain that's common across Southwest Colorado. If you're unsure whether it can access your specific site, call us and describe what you're working with.
-
The base rate covers mobilization and two hours on site, which handles most standard residential jobs. Profile pits, multi-point exposures, or more complex access work may take additional time. We'll scope it out and give you a realistic estimate before we start.
-
Yes. We don't leave open excavations on your property. Once the work requiring access is complete, we backfill and do our best to restore the surface to its prior condition.
-
Our excavator services are focused on septic-related work — installations, repairs, riser access, and profile pits. If you have a project that connects to your septic system, we're the right call. For general excavation outside that scope, we'd recommend a dedicated excavation contractor.
